The Energy Aware House

The Software Corridor project and InfinIT Innovation Network jointly established The Energy Aware House exhibit for the Bright Green Expo in Forum, Copenhagen, December 12 to 13 2009 – in relation to the COP15 meeting.
Subsequently, the exhibit has been shown at the Danish Ministry for Science Technology and Innovation in Copenhagen January 2010, at the NOVI Science Park in Aalborg April 2010, and at theE-10 - Denmark's biggest electronics trade fair September 2010.

The Energy Aware House displays four future scenarios of how consumers can save energy and contribute to CO2 reduction. The partners demonstrate climate-friendly technologies that respond to the energy-consuming challenges of our daily lives. One gets insight into the future possibilities, experiences the Bright Green Energy Planner and learns how one can save on energy. Finally, a ‘Pollution Dress’ is displayed – having built-in sensors and diodes for displaying the current CO2 level.

Through the exhibition, the companies have obtained new partnerships through the exhibition. E.g. a number of follow-up projects have been initiated. Also, the companies have become much more visible through the exhibition, and the Government Funding Office has become aware of the potential of energy saving using new IT technology.

Also, the fact that several follow-up projects have been initiated, illustrate the interest of the companies. For example the InfinIT partners CSI and Alexandra Institute collaborates with the company Diffus on further development of intelligent textiles, and the InfinIT partner CISS collaborates with Brunata and Seluxit on implementing thte ‘Open Window’ scenario from the exhibit.
